As part of its humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable families during the winter season, Qatar Charity has launched its largest winter food basket distribution project in several Syrian governorates, in coordination with the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Damascus.
The project aims to distribute 6,800 food baskets to families, each containing 64 kilograms of essential food items to meet a family's needs for a full month. This initiative contributes to enhancing food security for families amidst the difficult living conditions.
The importance of this project is heightened by the intensifying cold waves of winter, which are accompanied by rising living costs and difficulty in securing necessities, especially for the most vulnerable families.
In this context, His Excellency Mr. Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Syria, affirmed that this project reflects Qatar's unwavering commitment to supporting the Syrian people. He noted that "implementing this project at this time comes in response to the increasing needs of Syrian families during the winter season and embodies Qatar's keenness to stand by its brothers and sisters in Syria and alleviate their humanitarian and living burdens."
His Excellency added that the ongoing coordination with relevant authorities aims to deliver aid to those who deserve it with complete transparency and efficiency, ensuring the desired humanitarian impact. This project is one of the largest winter food distribution projects this year and exemplifies effective humanitarian cooperation in supporting the resilience of Syrian families and improving their living conditions during the winter.
