Qatar Charity Implements 1,249 Projects Transforming the Lives of Hundreds of Thousands of Beneficiaries in Ghana in 2025

Qatar Charity addressed the most pressing humanitarian and development challenges in Ghana during 2025. Qatar Charity’s field office in the capital, Accra, implemented a series of integrated, high-impact projects totaling 1,249 projects, benefiting 587,367 people from the most vulnerable and underserved communities across various regions of Ghana.

Strengthening Humanitarian and Development Impact

Throughout 2025, Qatar Charity’s office in Ghana continued to enhance its humanitarian and development impact through a wide range of interventions that responded directly to the needs of vulnerable communities and disadvantaged families. These efforts included quality projects in the sectors of education and culture, health, water and sanitation, social care, housing, livelihoods, relief, and rehabilitation, in addition to the establishment of multi-service community centers.

The 2025 indicators reflect the scale of work accomplished and the breadth of beneficiaries reached through Qatar Charity’s projects in Ghana, with 1,249 projects implemented at a total cost of QAR 90,180,323.

376 Projects Implemented in the Education and Culture Sector

Qatar Charity’s achievements in 2025 clearly reaffirmed that investing in human capital and basic services remains a core pillar of its humanitarian work.
In the education and culture sector alone, 376 projects were implemented with a total budget of QAR 35,503,647, benefiting 68,620 individuals. These projects focused on improving learning environments, supporting educational interventions, and strengthening the cultural and religious infrastructure of communities through the construction of places of worship and educational facilities.

427,000 Beneficiaries from Water and Sanitation Projects

Given that the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) sector is closely linked to protecting public health and human dignity, Qatar Charity implemented 524 projects that benefited 427,000 people. This reflects Qatar Charity’s priority to ensure safe and sustainable access to drinking water and sanitation services, and to reduce the risks associated with waterborne diseases.

In the field of social care, Qatar Charity implemented 27 projects with a budget of QAR 15,507,237, benefiting 9,749 individuals, with a clear focus on the most vulnerable groups, strengthening social protection systems, and delivering interventions that ensure stability and dignity for families and individuals.

Expansion of Multi-Service Community Centers

Among the projects with significant community impact, 2025 witnessed notable expansion in multi-service community center projects, which represent a development model that brings together multiple services within a single space serving the community. Six such projects were implemented, benefiting 5,200 people. This approach reflects Qatar Charity’s commitment to enhancing service efficiency and reducing access gaps in high-need areas.

Health Facilities and Preventive and Curative Services

In the health sector, 25 projects were implemented, benefiting 65,850 people. Interventions ranged from the construction of health facilities to the support of preventive and curative services, contributing to improved healthcare quality, reduced disease risks, and enhanced response to essential medical needs.

In line with Qatar Charity’s vision of providing adequate housing as a gateway to social stability, 108 housing projects were implemented, benefiting 540 people. These projects support the most vulnerable families by providing safe living environments that enable them to build a more stable future.

Linking Emergency Response with Recovery and Reconstruction

In the livelihoods sector, Qatar Charity implemented 174 projects benefiting 870 individuals, in addition to two income-generating projects that benefited 200 people. These interventions aimed to strengthen families’ capacity to meet their basic needs through productive and vocational opportunities, supporting activities that ensure sustainable income and reduce dependency on aid.

As part of its emergency response efforts, Qatar Charity implemented six relief projects benefiting 9,138 people. One rehabilitation project was also carried out, benefiting 200 individuals, underscoring Qatar Charity’s approach of linking emergency response with recovery and reconstruction.

Official and Community Recognition of Qatar Charity’s Efforts

Numerous official and community entities in Ghana expressed their strong appreciation for Qatar Charity’s achievements throughout 2025, praising the tangible impact of the implemented projects and their positive reflection on quality of life.

The value of Qatar Charity’s achievements in Ghana during 2025 goes beyond performance indicators; it is embodied in official and community testimonies that reflect the real, on-the-ground impact of the projects and affirm the importance of partnership with national institutions and various segments of society. These testimonies encapsulate the essence of the interventions: bringing essential services closer, improving quality of life, and providing sustainable solutions that enhance resilience.

Foreign Minister Commends Qatar Charity’s Projects

Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr.Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, said in a statement reflecting the Ghanaian government’s appreciation of its partnership with Qatar Charity:

“We value the role played by Qatar Charity in Ghana, and we consider its interventions during 2025 a model of partnership that translates solidarity into tangible services in water, education, relief, and health. This work contributes to strengthening social stability and supporting local development pathways, and we emphasize the importance of continuing this cooperation in a way that serves the most vulnerable communities.”

For his part, Professor Aruna Zaghoun Said, lecturer at the University of Ghana and President of the Federation of Islamic Communities in Ghana, offered a direct perspective on the impact from the lens of people’s daily lives, stating:

“The real impact is evident in the details of everyday life: safe and nearby water, better schools, accessible healthcare services, and support that restores hope to families. What distinguishes Qatar Charity’s interventions is their combination of emergency response with long-term solutions, which is reflected in the resilience of communities and their ability to improve their future.”

A Balanced Mix of Service and Development Projects

The outcomes of 2025 confirm that Qatar Charity continued to deliver strong institutional performance through a balanced mix of service-oriented, development, and relief projects, driven by standards of targeting, transparency, and impact maximization.
