Qatar Charity urges support for victims of “Forgotten Crises”

As part of its ongoing Ramadan campaign “Good Starts With You”, Qatar Charity (QC) has launched the “Forgotten Crises” initiative, calling on benevolent donors to support people affected by protracted humanitarian crises during the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan.

The initiative aims to mobilize support for millions of people living through long-running humanitarian emergencies that receive limited media coverage and insufficient international attention, despite the persistence and urgency of their humanitarian needs.

Through this initiative, Qatar Charity reaffirms the continuity of its humanitarian work in serving the most vulnerable groups and alleviating their suffering, despite the current exceptional conditions. The initiative focuses on several forgotten crises affecting communities in Rohingya refugee camps, Somalia, Yemen, Afghanistan, Chad, and Mauritania.

Planned humanitarian interventions include providing food assistance to families facing hunger, building and rehabilitating damaged homes to protect families from harsh living conditions, and supplying essential shelter items that help preserve human dignity and restore a sense of safety and stability.

According to UN sources, “Forgotten Crises” are long-term emergencies driven by conflict, poverty, or repeated disasters. Limited media attention reduces humanitarian funding, leaving affected communities increasingly vulnerable without sustained support.

Qatar Charity has called on donors to support the initiative during the last ten days of Ramadan. Donations will provide food and shelter assistance to displaced people, refugees, and families affected by crises, helping meet their basic needs and restore safety.
