Thanks to generous donors, Qatar Charity (QC) distributed Eid clothes to thousands of sponsored orphans in 22 countries, including Qatar. This is part of the organization’s 'Greatest Days' campaign during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, aiming to bring joy to children ahead of Eid al-Adha.
This project is part of Qatar Charity’s 'Rofaqa' initiative to support orphans and their families. By providing basic needs during the Eid holidays, it helps ease the financial pressure on families and promotes kindness and community support.
In Djibouti, 600 sponsored children benefited from the initiative, expressing visible happiness upon receiving their new Eid clothes.
One beneficiary’s mother described the gesture as a source of immense joy for families, noting its positive impact on children.
In Sri Lanka’s Ampara district, 250 orphans received Eid clothing through shopping vouchers, allowing them to select their outfits alongside their families. This approach enhanced their sense of dignity, confidence, and inclusion within their communities.
In southern Türkiye, 686 Eid clothing cards were distributed to sponsored orphans from Syrian refugee families and host communities. The initiative enabled children to choose their clothing independently, reinforcing their sense of self-worth and participation in the festive spirit.
In Mauritania, 250 orphan boys and girls benefited from Eid clothing packages that included garments, toys, and gifts, while similar distributions reached 350 orphan children in Pakistan’s Kashmir, providing them with new clothes and footwear for Eid celebrations.
Meanwhile, in Niger and Mali, Qatar Charity distributed Eid clothing to 500 orphans—250 in each country—creating a festive atmosphere and drawing appreciation from beneficiaries and their families, who expressed gratitude for the donors’ support.
It is worth noting that Qatar Charity’s “The Greatest Days” campaign for the year 1447 AH includes the implementation of the Eid Clothing Project for orphans in around 21 countries worldwide. The project targets thousands of orphans sponsored by donors through Qatar Charity, at a total cost of approximately QAR 2.5 million, and is expected to benefit about 8,200 children by providing them with essential Eid supplies.
