Doha – 31 May 2026

Qatar Charity (QC) has thanked donors for their strong support of the Qurbani (Udhiyah) Project, implemented under its seasonal campaign “The Greatest Days.”

With the support of benefactors, the project was carried out during Eid Al-Adha in 43 countries, including Qatar, bringing relief and joy to hundreds of thousands of vulnerable families.

The organization distributed meat from 45,763 sacrificial animals—exceeding the campaign target by 3,113—benefiting more than 900,000 people, at a total cost of approximately QAR 30 million.

The project aimed to promote social solidarity, support families in need, and revive the practice of Qurbani.

Outside Qatar, implementation focused on countries affected by ongoing crises, particularly Palestine (including Gaza), Somalia, Syria, Kenya, and Sudan, helping strengthen food security and reach the most vulnerable groups.

Within Qatar, beneficiaries included low-income families, orphan households, widows, divorced women, and families of prisoners.

The project’s success was supported by Qatar Charity’s field offices in more than 33 countries, partnerships with local organizations, and early planning, including contracting reliable suppliers and preparing verified beneficiary lists.

In Qatar, distribution was facilitated through smart vouchers via the “Alaqraboon” app, ensuring an organized and accessible delivery process.

Commenting on the project, Mr. Abdulaziz Jassim Hejji, Executive Director of Communications and Community Impact at Qatar Charity, thanked donors for their generosity and trust. He noted that the project exceeded its target by around 7 percent, reflecting the strong engagement of supporters and their continued commitment to helping those in need.

The project was implemented in 42 countries in addition to Qatar, including Niger, Indonesia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Philippines, Pakistan, Tanzania, Gambia, South Africa, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Ghana, Palestine (Ramallah and Gaza), Côte d’Ivoire, Kosovo, Lebanon, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Morocco, Benin, Burundi, Togo, Mali, Syria, Albania, Jordan, India, Yemen, Burkina Faso, Türkiye, Chad, Tunisia, Djibouti, Kyrgyzstan, Kenya, Egypt, Mauritania, Somalia, Bangladesh, Senegal, and Sudan.
