Qatar Charity Launches Campaign to Support 150,000 People in Pakistan

7/8/2026

Qatar Charity (QC) has launched a large-scale campaign to distribute in-kind and development assistance across several provinces of Pakistan, including Jammu and Kashmir, targeting more than 150,000 beneficiaries among flood-affected families, persons with disabilities, schoolchildren, and vulnerable households.

The campaign forms part of Qatar Charity’s ongoing efforts to support vulnerable communities, improve living conditions, and strengthen their ability to recover from the impact of crises.

Emergency Relief Assistance

The first phase of the campaign saw the distribution of 600 relief packages containing blankets, camping heaters, winter clothing, kitchen sets, solar-powered lamps, and water bottles, helping meet the basic needs of affected families.

In the education sector, Qatar Charity provided 11 government schools with new classroom furniture, contributing to a more conducive learning environment for students. The organization also distributed 275 wheelchairs to support persons with disabilities and enhance their independence and mobility.

Economic Empowerment Initiatives

In the coming weeks, Qatar Charity plans to expand the campaign through the distribution of 200 family tents, 1,212 blood pressure monitors, and an additional 4,400 relief packages.

The interventions will also include the provision of 700 additional wheelchairs, alongside a range of livelihood support projects. These include the distribution of 200 sewing machines, 130 tuk-tuks, 130 cargo tricycles, and 100 corn flour milling machines, helping vulnerable families establish sustainable sources of income and improve their long-term resilience.

Gratitude from Beneficiaries

Beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the generous people of Qatar for their support and solidarity.

Sumera Nadeem, a mother of five from Jhang District, said that the 2025 floods caused her family to lose their home, crops, and source of livelihood, noting that the assistance she received helped ease their suffering during a difficult period.

"The support made us feel that we were not alone in facing this crisis. We are grateful to Qatar Charity and the people of Qatar for standing with us in our time of need," she said.

At one of the beneficiary schools, fourth-grade student Ayaz Hussain shared his experience, saying: "We used to sit on the floor because there were no desks or chairs. Today, we can study in a much more comfortable environment."

Amjid Khan, Head Teacher of the school, said the new furniture had significantly improved the learning environment and created more suitable conditions for students. He also expressed his appreciation to the people of Qatar for supporting schools in remote communities.

In another example of the campaign’s impact, Iqra Bibi, a student who lost both legs in an accident, said that receiving an electric wheelchair had enabled her to regain her mobility and continue her education.

"The wheelchair has helped me move independently again and has given me greater confidence in the future," she said.

Sustainable Humanitarian Impact

Qatar Charity emphasized that the campaign goes beyond addressing immediate humanitarian needs. It also focuses on supporting education, promoting economic empowerment, and enhancing the inclusion of persons with disabilities, helping beneficiaries build more stable and self-reliant futures.

Through its various interventions, the campaign is expected to improve the living conditions of nearly 150,000 people across different provinces of Pakistan.
