The center’s opening reflects the longstanding partnership and cooperation between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the State of Qatar, as well as their joint efforts to support the health sector and enhance medical services for citizens across the Kingdom.
Al-Hamra Comprehensive Health Center is one of the health projects implemented by Qatar Charity in Jordan. Established in Al-Hamra in Mafraq Governorate, it aims to improve the efficiency of health services and expand access to medical care for residents of the area and neighboring communities. Implementation began in August 2024, and outfitting and procurement were completed in 2026, at a total cost of approximately QAR 10 million.
The center covers a total area of 1,769 square meters across two main floors, in addition to supporting service facilities. The ground floor houses the emergency and ambulance department, medical records room, pharmacy, accounting department, radiology and panoramic imaging unit, chronic disease clinics, and maternal and child health department. The first floor includes specialist clinics, dental clinics and a dental laboratory, as well as administrative offices and doctors’ accommodation.
The project also included the development of outdoor areas, landscaping, and planting beds. In addition, the center was equipped with modern medical equipment and devices, together with the necessary furniture, to ensure the delivery of integrated health services in accordance with the highest standards.
In his remarks at the opening ceremony, Minister of Health H.E. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Bdour said that Al-Hamra Comprehensive Health Center represents a significant addition to the healthcare system in Mafraq Governorate. He noted that it would help improve the quality of health services provided to citizens and expand access to primary and comprehensive healthcare. He also praised the effective partnership between the Ministry of Health and Qatar Charity, which led to the completion of this vital project in a manner that meets residents’ needs and raises the standard of healthcare in the area.
For his part, H.E. Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al-Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, expressed pride in the deep-rooted fraternal relations between Qatar and Jordan. He emphasized that the project reflects the depth of cooperation between the two brotherly countries and their shared commitment to supporting vital sectors, particularly healthcare—in ways that positively affect local communities and advance sustainable development.
Mr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Charity, said that the center’s opening is an extension of Qatar Charity’s mission to support communities and enable access to high-quality essential services. He noted that the organization attaches particular importance to the health sector because of its direct impact on quality of life. He added that the center is a successful model of cooperation with the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, represented by the Jordanian Ministry of Health. He thanked the ministry and other relevant entities for the support and facilitation they provided, which enabled the project to be completed to a high standard. He also expressed his hope that Qatar Charity would continue to implement development projects serving families and communities throughout the Kingdom.
Al-Hamra Comprehensive Health Center is expected to ease pressure on existing health facilities in Mafraq Governorate and provide more comprehensive, higher-quality medical services to thousands of beneficiaries in the area and surrounding communities. This will help improve the efficiency of the healthcare system and raise the standard of care provided to citizens.
The ceremony concluded with a tour of the center’s facilities, during which guests viewed its various medical departments and modern equipment. They expressed appreciation for the efforts that contributed to the completion of this vital project, which represents a significant addition to the Kingdom’s healthcare infrastructure.
