Qatar Charity has continued its humanitarian efforts to support families affected by floods and those most in need in Morocco. With support from generous donors, it carried out a food relief campaign in Tata Province, benefiting approximately 9,744 people.
The campaign distributed 1,392 food baskets to flood-affected families and those most in need, as part of Qatar Charity’s efforts to ease the financial burden on affected households and strengthen their food security.
The baskets contained staple food items sufficient to meet the beneficiary families’ needs for one month, helping them meet their food needs and cope with difficult living conditions.
The project was implemented in coordination with local authorities, with organizational arrangements designed to ensure smooth distribution and the efficient delivery of assistance to eligible families.
A Positive Impact
The humanitarian initiative brought relief to beneficiaries. Fatima Al-Zahra, a mother of four, said: “We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Qatar Charity for this assistance. This initiative has had a positive impact on us and helped ease our daily burdens.
Tata Province is among the areas at risk of flooding. In September 2024, the province experienced severe floods and flash floods that caused loss of life and property damage. Homes, roads, bridges, water and electricity networks, agricultural land, oases and local livelihoods were affected, increasing the vulnerability of several families and local communities.
