QC, Stantec distributes gifts to patient workers

In cooperation with Qatar Charity (QC), Stantec Company has distributed gifts and personal hygiene kits to a group of patient workers at Hamad General Hospital during a visit paid to them  as part of the events of QC’s project entitled ‘You are not alone’.

Community Responsibility

This collaboration has come as part of Stantec’s social responsibility and its keenness to organize activities and events to serve the community.

Roger Vreugdenhil, business director at the company, said “this year, we are honored to cooperate with Qatar Charity and Hamad General Hospital to provide moral and practical support to workers who have been injured while working away from their families and beloved ones."

Vreugdenhil added that Stantec encourages its employees from around the world to participate in voluntary work, and support charities and humanitarian issues through its annual initiative entitled “Stantec in Community” to enhance interaction with the community in which the company operates.

For his part, Fareed Khaleel Al Siddieqy, director of Projects and Centers Department at Qatar Charity, expressed his pride in participating in the good initiative of Stantec to visit the patients as part of the "You are not alone" project.

He also noted that this visit brought a smile to the faces of patients, contributed to reducing the feeling of pain and estrangement, and represented a significant incentive for healing, Allah willing.

Al Siddieqy stressed that Qatar Charity is ready to cooperate with institutions and companies that wish to carry out humanitarian initiatives within the framework of community responsibility, as such cooperation and partnership has an impact beneficial to society.

The visit had a good impact on the beneficiary patients who expressed their gratitude to the initiators for this humanitarian gesture.

Cooperation and partnership

"You are not alone" is a project implemented by Qatar Charity ( International Humanitarian Organisation ) throughout the year to instill the values of volunteerism and compassion in the hearts of the participants. The project is carried out in cooperation with a number of youth initiatives, institutions and companies by organizing activities and paying visits to patients and elderly people at hospitals and the Center for the Empowerment and Care of the Elderly (Ehsan).
