46,500 people in Qatar receive Qatar Charity’s Udhiyah
Qatar Charity (QC), with the support from benefactors in Qatar, has distributed 5000 Udhiyah, valued at over QR3.8mn, to 46,500 beneficiaries in Qatar.
The Udhiyah, distributed in the third and fourth days of Eid al-Adha, came as part of Qatar Charity’s Eid al-Adha drive, ‘Delight them with your sacrifice, Let the hope continue’.
Before Eid al-Adha, Qatar Charity distributed coupons to the beneficiaries, who were families with limited income and those sponsored by Qatar Charity like orphans, students and people with special needs. Arab and Asian expatriate families, those affected by the coronavirus, and workers also received Udhiyah from Qatar Charity.
The meats were distributed to the beneficiaries in cooperation with the Widam Food Company, through its Wakrah central slaughterhouse, Al-Seliya slaughterhouse, Al-Shahaniya slaughterhouse, and Umm Salal slaughterhouse, where the beneficiaries received Udhiyah while they were in their vehicles. The orphans and low-income families received Udhiyah at their homes, while the workers were provided with it at their residential complexes and in farms.
Qatar Charity received support from the Qatari social figures, various Qatar Charity Centers for Community Development, and many expatriate communities to reach eligible beneficiaries. A good number of volunteers took part in distributing coupons to beneficiaries, and guiding them.
The director of the Programs and Community Development department at Qatar Charity, Fatima Jumah al-Mohannadi, thanked donors for their generous contributions to the ‘Udhiyah’ drive that benefited low-income families, workers, and those affected by the coronavirus.
She also extended the warmest congratulations and best greetings to the Qatari leadership, government, citizens, and residents on Eid al-Adha, praying to Allah the Almighty to return this occasion to everyone with good, blessing and happiness.
She urged people to continue supporting Qatar Charity’s projects and programs continuing throughout the year, which aims to provide humanitarian services inside and outside Qatar.
Many representatives of the expatriate communities in Qatar expressed their happiness with Qatar Charity’s Udhiyah drive that shared the joy of Eid with the expatriate low-income families and workers, thanking Qatar Charity for the smooth process of distributing Udhiyah meats by distributing coupons before Eid Al-Adha.
