Qatar Charity elects new Board of Directors

Qatar Charity has elected a new Board of Directors.

 

The election was held at the annual General Assembly, last Tuesday evening, in the presence of QC Chairman HE Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Jassem al-Thani and members of the Board of Directors, at the QC headquarters in Doha.

The new Board includes: His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Jassem al-Thani, HE Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Marri, HE Dr. Mohammed Abdul Wahid Al Hammadi, HE Dr. Hassan Lahdan Mohannadi, HE Faisal Abdullah bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud, HE Mohammed Abdul Latif Al Mana, HE Mohamed Nasser Al Fahid Al-Hajri, HE Abdul Rahman Abdul Jalil Abdul Ghani Nasser and Sheikh Mohammed Hassan Al Marikhi.

HE Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Jassem al-Thani was elected as President and HE Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Marri as Vice-President.

The meeting also involved a review of the annual report of the Board of Directors and the most important achievements of the organization in 2015, accounts and financial statements for the financial year ended 2015 and the ratification of the final accounts for the financial year ended 2015.

QC’s important achievements included a number of awards and honors, significant growth and development, expansion and proliferation, in addition to an increase in charitable donations revenue totaling QAR one billion and thirteen million.

The year 2015 also saw QC attract 44 new distinguished Qatari members of staff.

In a speech made during the Annual General Meetinng, QC CEO Yusuf Bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, thanked the previous board of directors and wished the new board success.

Al Kuwari spoke of the unprecedented achievements made during 2015 in terms of performance and results, at a local, international and organizational level, which he said has helped create a bright image of Qatar to the world.

He added that the coming period was full of great challenges which would require the organization to exert significant effort, and pointed out that QC will present the next phase of the QC plan to the new Board of Directors for approval and adoption at its first session

Sheikh Abdullah al-Dabbagh, former Chairman of QC Management, gave a moving speech on the organization’s acheievements in recent years, and expressed his hope that it would continue to support the needy via quality humanitarian projects.
