Qatar Charity participates in 29th Doha International Book Fair

Qatar Charity (QC), through its stall, is actively participating in the 29th edition of the Doha International Book Fair, which will continue until December 8, by organizing many special events and cultural activities for all visitors. QC’s activities at the fair includes seminars, workshops, and book-signing events for both; young and adult visitors.

This participation came as part of QC's responsibility to instill the values of humanitarian action and to spread the culture of volunteerism, and its efforts to contribute to the development of society in accordance with the Qatar National Vision 2030.

QC’s stall at fair, includes a section for publications, a children's corner and a corner of the electronic library.  Qatar Charity is holding many activities and competitions for children such as the Balloon of Knowledge, Re-order Words to Make a Correct Sentence, Tell about the Picture in a Correct Sentence and “Who am I” aimed at introducing well-known reciters of the Holy Quran, in addition to general competitions, interactive games, and the activities of painting and coloring. There is also a competition for adults entitled "Book and Author" to introduce the authors of important books.

QC’s stall has a number of books, issued by Qatar Charity in both Arabic and English languages, for adults and children and the youth. The most important books include The Glowing of Success (second part) in Arabic, the English version of the same book (first part), a book for zakat calculation, a Hadith collection on making charity, in addition to Ghiras magazine, a story of three heroes, stories of “Future’s Writer” program and coloring book.

There are also two books at QC’s stall, which are entitled "Youth Experiences in Volunteer Work" and "Volunteers at the Heart of the Field", in addition to having an "e-Library" service, through which, visitors can browse and download QC’s publications.

Qatar Charity is also holding many seminars, targeting the public at the fair. These seminars are entitled “"Cultural and Intellectual Volunteerism", which was presented on the first day of the book fair, “Nurturing the Writing Talents of Young Generation”, and “Charity and Human Dignity", which will be held on Tuesday and Thursday of this week respectively.

Qatar Charity is also organizing several workshops, which are entitled “The Culture of Volunteerism”, “Turn the Story into a Movie", and "How to Write a Story”, which was held yesterday.

On Friday evening, a book-signing event was held for the wining stories in the second edition of “Future’s Writers”, which was attended by the winners and their family members. Another book-signing event will be organized for The Glowing of Success on December 2.
