Qatar Charity signed an agreement with Qatar Finance and Business Academy in cooperation with Northumbria University regarding cooperation in the field of development and humanitarian work for financially distressed students.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Faisal Rashid Al-Fahida, Assistant CEO of Programs and Community Development Sector, and on behalf of Qatar Finance and Business Academy in cooperation with Northumbria University, Mr. Khalifa Al Yafei, Acting President of Qatar Finance and Business Academy.
Under the signed agreement, the two parties will explore opportunities for studies and research, develop volunteer work among students, in addition to promoting the values of solidarity and social work among students, to support financially distressed students by creating an electronic account under the name "University Student Support Project" dedicated to Northumbria University students and paying for them According to the social status of the students.
The financially distressed students will be transferred to Qatar Charity to study their social cases to determine their eligibility for the required assistance.
In return, the charitable initiatives of the students will be absorbed and supported with expertise and resources, in addition to facilitating the research conducted by the students.
Qatar Charity's employees will also participate in relevant training programs related to development issues, humanitarian work and the management of non-profit organizations.
In this context, Mr. Faisal Rashid Al-Fahida, Assistant CEO of the Programs and Community Development Sector, welcomed this step and said: “Qatar Charity is keen to strengthen cooperation and establish partnerships with the relevant authorities in the local community, especially in the field of social solidarity, which supports the continuation of young people who are unable to pursue their university education. For his part, Mr. Khalifa Al Yafei, Acting President of the Qatar Finance and Business Academy, said: “The importance of this agreement between Qatar Charity and the Qatar Finance and Business Academy in cooperation with Northumbria University lies in supporting financially distressed students at the university, as well as creating opportunities for volunteer work through joint programs with Qatar Charity. It is related to humanitarian work. Through this partnership, we aspire to provide an opportunity for students to complete their higher education while encouraging them to participate in voluntary and humanitarian initiatives organized by the association and help develop their skills.”
