Qatar Charity has distributed blankets to 23,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Eastern Ghouta to alleviate their suffering, especially in the bitter winter.

Also, the charity is preparing to implement a number of projects in the field of food, health, and shelter for the newly displaced persons living under very difficult humanitarian conditions.

The aid is provided as part of the QC’s “Affected by Winter” campaign, which is devoted to lessening the suffering of displaced people and refugees affected by the winter around the world, particularly those displaced from the Eastern Ghouta, as their number reached more than 120,000 persons.

Last month, Qatar Charity managed to distribute relief aid to over 6,000 people in the Besieged Syrian Ghouta, as part of the QC’s urgent and repeated responses to lessen the suffering of the people living there in the extremely difficult humanitarian conditions.

Recently, 1,470 families with 8,350 members, affected by the Eastern Ghouta Siege, have benefited from the QC’s aid, which cost more than one million riyals.

The charity provided ambulances and non-food items to the people of the eastern Ghouta and in addition to the emergency relief project, which included the distribution of food baskets.

It is noteworthy that Qatar Charity Projects for the relief of the affected Syrians, benefitted more than 16.2 million displaced people and refugees in the areas of food, shelter, health, and education since April 2011 until the end of December 2017, which cost about 544.5 million riyals.

Qatar Charity is very grateful to all those who contributed to the QC’s relief campaigns since the beginning of the crisis, to support affected Syrian people inside and outside the country and it appeals to philanthropists, both Qatari and residents, to continue their Support for Syrian People.

QC launched its ‘Affected by Winter’ campaign to support displaced people and refugees affected by the bitter winter and heavy rain in Syria, Iraq, Palestine, and places with Rohingya refugees.
