Qatar Charity (QC) implemented a relief and development initiative in Mali, benefiting 9,360 people, including internally displaced persons (IDPs), vulnerable groups, and sponsored individuals. The initiative was carried out with support from Qatar's donors and in cooperation with Mali’s Ministry for the Promotion of Women, Children, and Families.

The initiative was launched under the patronage of Mali's Minister for the Promotion of Women, Children, and the Family, Mrs. Diarra Djeneba Sanogo, and in the presence of Qatar's Ambassador to Mali, H.E. Mr. Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Sunaidi. The initiative aims to provide shelter, economic empowerment, and improved living conditions for IDPs and vulnerable groups, including orphans, persons with special needs, students, teachers, and low-income families.

Qatar Charity’s relief and development initiative focuses on empowering women and youth through income-generating projects. These projects included the provision of 50 flour mills, 130 tricycles for goods transport, 130 tricycles for passenger transport, and 200 sewing machines, to boost livelihoods and promote self-reliance.

The initiative also delivered essential humanitarian and social aid, containing 1,000 school kits, 200 shelter kits for IDPs and flood victims, and mobility aid for persons with special needs, which included 600 standard wheelchairs and 100 electric ones. Additionally, 900 water purifiers, 900 solar-powered camping lights, and 900 kitchen kits were distributed, along with 1,200 blood pressure monitors and 2,900 personal water filters to enhance health and living conditions.

On this occasion, H.E. Mrs. Diarra Djeneba Sanogo, Minister for the Promotion of Women, Children, and Families, expressed her pride in this humanitarian initiative, which aligns with the priorities of H.E. Assimi Goita, the Interim President of Mali. She also extended her heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Qatar Charity and the State of Qatar, both the government and people, for their ongoing support and noble humanitarian efforts.

In turn, Qatar's Ambassador to Mali, H.E. Mr. Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Sunaidi noted that this project emphasizes the efforts to strengthen the partnership between Qatar and Mali, based on mutual trust in various areas of cooperation. He expressed his gratitude to the Government of Mali and all those who contributed to this noble humanitarian initiative.

Mr. Said Zoulgamai, director of Qatar Charity’s Mali Branch, emphasized the importance of the relief and development initiative, extending his sincere thanks to the philanthropists in Qatar for supporting the most vulnerable groups, and to the HE Ambassador to Mali, acknowledging his pivotal role in the success of this vital project.

The launch event concluded with the honoring of Qatar Charity, which was awarded a certificate of appreciation for its outstanding efforts in overcoming challenges, alleviating the suffering of people, and providing the best humanitarian services. The certificate was presented by the Minister for the Promotion of Women, Children, and Families to the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Mali.
