Qatar Charity (QC) has laid the foundation stone for several educational and healthcare projects in Kyrgyzstan’s remote rural areas suffering from a severe lack of basic services. This is part of Qatar Charity’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable development and improve quality of life in the country.

These projects include the construction of a secondary school and two health centers, reflecting Qatar Charity’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and providing integrated infrastructure that empowers and serves local populations. Thousands of people are expected to benefit from the projects.

These efforts fall within a broader development program implemented by Qatar Charity in Kyrgyzstan, aimed at enhancing living standards and strengthening vital sectors—particularly education and healthcare—in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals.

The foundation stone was laid for a 637 square-meter secondary school in a village in the Chuy region. The project is expected to benefit around 1,500 people from the village and surrounding areas, with potential for future expansion due to population growth.

This project will address a critical need in an area lacking adequate educational facilities. It aims to provide a modern and safe learning environment that supports academic achievement and reduces dropout rates, especially as local schools struggle with limited capacity.

Also, a foundation stone was laid for a new health center covering 175 square meters in a village of the Issyk-Kul Region. This facility aims to provide essential healthcare services to more than 1,500 residents in the village and nearby areas, particularly given the absence of a permanent health facility.

Another 175 square-meter health center is being built in a village of Chuy. The facility aims to meet the growing demand for safe and well-equipped primary healthcare services in rural areas. It is expected to serve approximately 3,500 people from the village and neighboring communities.

Local officials emphasized that this project is a priority and expressed deep gratitude to the generous donors in Qatar, praising Qatar Charity’s role in supporting underserved communities.
