With generous support from philanthropists in Qatar, a new humanitarian aid is being distributed across the Gaza Strip, targeting critical sectors such as food, clean water, and education. The initiative aims to alleviate the suffering of hundreds of thousands of people affected by over two years of war and a prolonged blockade.

The relief efforts began in August and are expected to conclude by the end of the year.

The aid, which is being distributed through Qatar Charity, includes approximately 4,700 food parcels for families facing acute food insecurity and the looming threat of famine. Each parcel contains essential food staples. In parallel, 2.4 million liters of potable water are also being delivered, addressing the dire need for clean drinking water in the region.

Additionally, daily meals are being provided to individuals with physical, cognitive, and auditory disabilities who are receiving treatment at the Hamad Hospital for Rehabilitation and Prosthetics in the Gaza Strip . The number of meals is expected to reach 47,100

In response to the new academic year, the education aid will include the distribution of 4,500 school bags and the rehabilitation of 60 classrooms. The project aims to equip students with necessary supplies and create a conducive learning environment amid challenging conditions.

Over the past two years of the war, Qatar has maintained a strong humanitarian presence in Gaza through airlifts, land convoys, medical initiatives, and other relief efforts. Qatari charitable organizations, backed by donors, have played a pivotal role in delivering aid across multiple sectors to support the resilience of Gaza’s population.
