Qatar Charity (QC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA), a government department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), to support skilled graduates in establishing sustainable livelihoods.

This collaboration aims to equip young people with the tools and resources needed for income generation, thereby strengthening economic resilience across the province.

The MoU was formally signed by Mr. Waqas Halim, Program Manager at Qatar Charity’s Pakistan office, and Engineer Nasrullah Khan, Principal of TEVTA.

As part of the initiative, Qatar Charity distributed income-generating equipment to 48 TEVTA graduates during a handover ceremony. The support package included 40 sewing machines, 4 tailoring shop setups, 2 electrical shops, an auto rickshaw, and a beauty salon, enabling both male and female beneficiaries to launch small businesses and contribute productively to their communities.

Government officials praised the partnership. Mr. Tufail Anjum, Minister for Technical Education, KP, commended Qatar Charity’s efforts, stating: “Qatar Charity’s interventions in KP are highly commendable. I encourage the organization to expand its initiatives to provide such economic growth opportunities aimed empowering more youth across the province and strengthening our economy.”

Engineer Nasrullah Khan, Principal of TEVTA, added: “This partnership with Qatar Charity is a significant step toward enhancing the economic prospects of skilled youth. Together, we are uplifting vulnerable communities and providing hope for a better future.”

Mr. Waqas Halim, Program Manager at Qatar Charity’s Pakistan office, emphasized the broader impact of the initiative. “Pakistan faces pressing challenges such as economic instability and climate change. Through this collaboration with TEVTA, we are equipping youth with the training and resources they need to generate income, build resilience, and support their families with dignity,” he said.

Beneficiaries shared inspiring stories of transformation. Ms. Sidra Bibi, a certified beautician, said: “With Qatar Charity’s support, I have received a complete beauty salon setup. My dream of starting my own business has come true.”

Mr. Mudassar Shah, an electrician graduate, expressed: “I was worried about starting my own business after my course, but Qatar Charity provided me with a complete toolset. Now, I can open my own shop and support my family.”

Mr. Mohsin Khan, a rickshaw recipient, shared: “Qatar Charity’s auto rickshaw will help me earn a living and ensure my children can attend school regularly. It’s a huge relief for my family.”
