Qatar Charity’s “Future’s Writers” holds training workshops for students

Qatar Charity (QC), in collaboration with Qatar University (QU) and other partners, organized many training workshops for university and school students to enhance their creative and short story writing skills and capabilities.

The workshops came as part of the ongoing fourth edition of the “Future’s Writers”, a Qatar Charity’s program implemented within Qatar, allowing competition among participants to display their hidden talents and encouraging novice writers to produce literary works.

Some 30 male and female students of Qatar University, who were declared as qualified candidates for the second phase of the “Future’s Writers” program, attended the training workshops held at the university.

Qualified for the second phase of the program, dozens of male and female students, including those with special needs, from primary, preparatory, and secondary schools, participated in the workshops held at different schools of Qatar.

The workshops, presented by QU’s faculty members, academicians, and scholars expert in the fields of literature and creative story writing, included theoretical and practical aspects, and a discussion and exchange of views on written works by the participants, who learned how to develop their stories and came to know about the elements of the short story.

The workshops were held to prepare the students for the third and last phase of the program, which requires these qualified participants to write complete stories.

It is worth mentioning that through its “Future’s Writers” program, Qatar Charity aims to contribute to achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030 by offering an array of activities to create a culture of reading, discover talents, and develop writing skills of students to build an educated generation capable of meeting challenges.
