Qatar Charity implements ‘Feed the Fasting’ project in many countries

Qatar Charity (QC) has implemented the ‘Feed the Fasting’ project by distributing food parcels to poor families, persons with special needs, and families of orphans in Albania, Bangladesh and Palestine.

The project was implemented in many regions of Albania where 1,400 families sponsored by Qatar Charity received food baskets.

In Bangladesh, nearly 6,500 destitute families, including families of orphans and widows of 13 districts received foodstuffs this year. The food packages were distributed in the presence of many local officials.  

In Palestine, Qatar Charity continues to distribute food parcels to the sponsored families, aiming to benefit more than 60,000 people from various governorates of the Gaza Strip, while in Ramallah, Qatar Charity is implementing the ‘Feed the Fasting’ project in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development Daoud Al-Deek said that this comes to strengthen cooperation between Qatar Charity and the ministry to meet the needs of poor and marginalized families, especially during the holy month of Ramadan in light of the difficult conditions that families experience due to the coronavirus pandemic.

He stated that the cooperation and interventions provided by the Ministry of Social Development for poor and marginalized families with the support of Qatar Charity cover all the governorates, and include providing fresh water and lighting for homes and providing support devices for people with disabilities.

The beneficiaries of the ‘Feed the Fasting’ were delighted with receiving the food packages, especially in light of the continuing coronavirus pandemic. They thanked the benevolent people of Qatar for extending the continued support to the vulnerable.
