Qatar Charity organizes Iftar gatherings for students in Ghana

Qatar Charity, as part of its ‘Endless Giving’ campaign, (QC) has been organizing group Iftars for university students, boarding school students, and worshipers at mosques in Ghana since the beginning of Ramadan. Additionally, food packages containing essential supplies are distributed to needy families. It is anticipated that the number of beneficiaries from the ‘feed the fasting’ project in Ghana will exceed 60,000.

The project implementation continues across 56 distribution centers in the Greater Accra, Northern, Ashanti, and Eastern regions. 700 families benefit from the food baskets. During the holy month, Qatar Charity’s Ghana Office also implements the Zakat al-Fitr and Eid Clothing Distribution projects for sponsored orphans.

Several beneficiaries of the Ramadan meals provided by Qatar Charity have expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the benefactors in Qatar for their support. They highlighted the significant impact of distributing Iftar meals prepared in the best specialized restaurants.

Mr. Salifu Yahaya Dangma, President of the Muslim Students Association at the University of Ghana, expressed gratitude to Qatar Charity for its support to Ghanaian students by providing exceptional Iftar meals to fasting students at the university dormitories since the beginning of Ramadan. He indicated that this assistance not only helps the students observe fasting but also enables them to focus on their academic pursuits. He also highlighted Qatar Charity's support for underprivileged students through scholarships that cover tuition fees to build their future.

On his part, the Imam of a mosque in Accra clarified that a significant number of members of the Muslim community in the neighborhood benefit from the Iftar meals provided by Qatar Charity during Ramadan. He praised Qatar Charity’s various and continuous support over many years to the Ghanaian community in numerous areas, including social care for orphans and the needy.  He thanked Qatar Charity for assisting needy Muslims in Ghana in fulfilling the duty of fasting.

At the Iftar meal distribution center in Kumasi, a city in Ghana, several students expressed their satisfaction with the delicious Iftar meals provided by Qatar Charity. Abu Bakr Salatu Ziba, the director of Force Senior High Technical School, expressed his delight at the presence of Qatar Charity’s team and their support for fasting students residing in the school's dormitory through the distribution of Iftar meals. He added, "This support came at the right time, and we ask Allah to reward the benefactors in Qatar generously for their charitable deeds, including these Iftar Meals that help students observe fasting and focus on their studies."
