  • Distributing relief supplies was to help families who suffer from food insecurity.
  • Al Ka'bi: The philanthropists play a major role in financing relief projects for the benefit of the distressed around the world.

Through its office in Djibouti, QC distributed food supplies to distressed families who suffer from food insecurity. This project was part of QC's relief and developmental program which targets the people of Djibouti who suffer from poverty and shortage in food supplies.

The Ministry of National Solidarity of Djibouti had pleaded for relief. QC responded to the plea and distributed the relief supplies in cooperation with Sakhaa for Services and Charitable Society for Social Welfare in Djibouti. Several representatives from the Ministry of National Solidarity and Local Authority attended the distribution process. 200 food baskets were given to 200 poor families in the countryside of 'Dakhl' in Djibouti. Each basket consisted of 25 kg of flour, 25 kg of sugar, 25 kg of rice and 5 liters of oil.

On this occasion, Mr. Mohammed Rashid Al Ka'bi, Director of Relief Management at QC, thanked the philanthropists in Qatar and commended their key role in supporting projects for the poor around the world. "Such aids are out of our humanitarian duty towards poor families which suffer from a severe shortage in the field of food and food supplies," said he.

The beneficiaries expressed their deep gratitude for QC's efforts and the projects it implements for their sake. "We used to live under bad conditions. Thanks to QC, we feel hopeful again. We did not have any food supplies available, nor could we buy any," commented they. The Djiboutian officials also thanked QC and pleaded that such aids would increase since there are thousands of poor families across Djibouti.
