QC launches the third edition of its "Future’s Writers" program

Under the patronage of His Excellency Salah Bin Ghanim Al Ali, Minister of Culture and Sports, Qatar Charity (International Charity Organization) launched the third edition of its "Future’s Writers" program during a ceremony held at the House of Wisdom at the Ministry's headquarters, aiming at promoting young Qatari talents.

The ceremony was attended by Ibrahim Hashim Al Sada, President of the Qatari Forum of Authors and Advisor to the Minister of Culture and Sports, Mohammad Rashid Al Kaabi, Assistant to the CEO in the Communication and Resource Development Sector at Qatar Charity, Masoud Al-Yami, Manager of Communications at Qatar University, and Aisha Al Kuwari, CEO of Dar Rosa Publishing, Dr. Latifa Al-Darwish, Media Representative of  the “Khair Jalees” Book Club,  Ahmed Al Ali, Director of QC’s Media and Communication Department, Adel Lamy Director of QC’s Public Relations Department, Ahmed Abdullah Media and Adel Abdullah, both media persons as well as a number of officials from the Ministry of Culture and Sports and Qatar Charity in addition to many social media influencers and those interested in cultural affairs.

Addressing the ceremony, Mohammad Rashid Al Kaabi, Assistant to the CEO in the Communication and Resource Development Sector at Qatar Charity, said "Qatar Charity is pleased a with the good results and impacts of the" Future’s Writers" program, the most important of which is providing the cultural arena of our country with promising writers.  Moreover, the program’s both editions; first and second, were widely accepted and highly appreciated as well as the first edition has been translated into Russian in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Sport and presented at the Moscow International Book Fair this month."

He added that this edition is comprehensive, thus students from all academic stages (primary, preparatory and secondary) and from any schools operating in Qatar, including government, private and international, can participate in the competition.

Al-Kaabi stressed the determination of Qatar Charity to continue its efforts to develop this program, extending his gratitude and thanks to all the success partners including Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Ministry of Culture and Sports, Qatar University, Qatari Forum For Authors, Dar Rosa Publishing, “Khair Jalees” Book Club, and the program sponsor Barwa Bank.

The ceremony included a presentation, which highlighted the most important outputs of the previous editions of the program. The ceremony also witnessed the participation of two winners in the second edition, Mohammed Abdullah Al-Marri and Sharifa Al-Ansari, who thanked all the partners and supporters of the program, which contributes to the discovery of the young talents in Qatar.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, Ibrahim Hashim Al-Sada, President of the Qatari Forum of Authors and Advisor to the Minister of Culture and Sports, that the ministry is pleased with its partnership in the program which brought together many individuals and institutions interested in culture and literature, considering that this partnership is an opportunity to create a better cultural future.

Aisha Al Kuwari, CEO of Dar Rosa Publishing, said both Qatar Charity and Dar Rosa have the same goal within the framework of this program and it is to support Qatari authors and young talents. She also confirmed all support for this edition through printing, publishing and distributing.

For her part, Dr. Latifa Al-Darwish, Media Representative of the “Khair Jalees” Book Club, said the club encourages people to read literature, considering that investment in human minds is the best at all.

Qatar Charity, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, had held an introductory meeting at the ministry to explain the idea of the program, additions and amendments made to the current edition as well as mechanisms of the competition and the conditions of participation.

The “Future’s Writers” program is one of Qatar Charity Projects, which is implemented within the State of Qatar. It is concerned with the development of students' writing skills through the competition.
