Qatar Charity (QC), in cooperation with Qatari Media Center, continues to deliver specialized training workshops for primary school students, as part of the “How to Be a Journalist” program, aiming to develop their media and journalism talents. These workshops are part of Qatar Charity's efforts to contribute to achieving Qatar National Vision 2030.

The “How to Be a Journalist” program, which was launched on February 3 and will continue until February 24, includes various specialized workshops and training sessions related to voice skills, news writing, media reporting, and creative content. The students are trained by a distinguished group of media and writing experts, including Dr. Abdullah Faraj, Dr. Ahmed Al-Janabi, and Mr. Ahmed Zarfa.

The program targets the students from Ali bin Abi Talib Preparatory School for Boys in Qatar. The workshops are conducted at Qatar Media Center once a week. Certificates will be awarded to the participants at the program's conclusion.

Mr. Abdulrahman Mohammad Al-Hajri, Director of the Programs and Community Development Department at Qatar Charity, stated, “This program is part of Qatar Charity's initiatives to develop the capabilities and talents of youth, enhance their role in serving their community and country, and contribute to achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030. We take pride in collaborating with Qatar Media Center, which provides its expertise and resources to prepare a new generation of promising journalists.”

Al-Hajri highlighted that the program will also be implemented for students from Amna Bint Wahab Preparatory School for Girls in April 2024, emphasizing Qatar Charity’s commitment to expanding the program to more schools in the future.

Dr. Abdullah Faraj, a trainer, noted the children's enthusiasm for developing their media skills, thanking Qatar Charity and Qatar Media Center for organizing the program.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Janabi, another trainer, stated that, during the workshop, he focused on four linguistic skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. He also presented several media reports to teach the participants how to write the reports, in addition to touching on other skills like body language, tones of voice, and effective communication with the audience.
