Qatar Charity (QC), in collaboration with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), organized a specialized training workshop on the Financial Tracking Service (FTS), with the participation of staff members from both organizations.
This workshop builds on a series of training sessions previously organized by Qatar Charity as part of its ongoing efforts to implement FTS, enhance transparency, and improve financial reporting mechanisms in line with international standards.
The sessions included detailed presentations on registration procedures, data entry, and report submission, alongside practical exercises, discussions on challenges, and recommendations to improve reporting quality and timeliness.
The workshop aimed to equip participants with the skills to access real-time insights into funding for humanitarian operations, track progress against response plans, and identify funding gaps to improve resource allocation. It also focused on enhancing strategic decision-making, strengthening coordination among donors, and fostering trust and shared responsibility among humanitarian actors.
FTS enables charities to monitor income, expenses, and fund usage with transparency and accountability. It supports budget control, donor reporting, and compliance with regulations. Implementing such a system improves financial efficiency, builds trust, and ensures responsible resource management.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Nawaf Abdulla Al-Hammadi, Chief Global Operations Officer at Qatar Charity, expressed appreciation for OCHA’s continued support, emphasizing the importance of accurate reporting and transparency. He noted that the workshop reflects Qatar Charity’s commitment to strengthening its role as a leading global humanitarian organization.
Mr. Mohamed Ali Al Ghamdi, Chief Governance & External Affairs Officer at Qatar Charity, praised the strategic partnership with OCHA, describing the workshop as a milestone in documenting humanitarian aid and expanding institutional engagement with FTS. He highlighted its role in amplifying Qatar Charity’s international presence and showcasing Qatar’s contributions to global humanitarian efforts with greater clarity and impact.
Ms. Amani Salah, Head of OCHA Office in Qatar, stated: “We are pleased to participate in this training workshop, which reflects our joint efforts to enhance transparency and improve coordination in humanitarian work. Highlighting Qatar’s contributions—particularly those of Qatar Charity—is a key priority for us, given the country’s leading role in supporting global humanitarian response.”
Mr. Saiid Alsayed Ahmed, Humanitarian Affairs Officer at OCHA’s Istanbul office, underscored the significance of the systematic documentation and reporting of humanitarian aid. He noted that Qatar Charity’s contributions deserve greater visibility within global tracking systems, reinforcing Qatar’s position as a key donor in international humanitarian work.
