Qatar Charity Opens the Second Phase of "Al-Nour" Village in Indonesia

More than 555 students are studying The Holy Quran at Al- Nour Model school.

 Qatar Charity opened the second phase of Al-Nour' model village in Indonesia as part of QC distinctive projects in Indonesia. It includes a school of two floors, 10 houses for teachers, an accommodation for up to 70 students, a hall for activities and lectures, and a shop store.

The first phase of this project has been opened in 2010 and included 100 residential units, a school, a clinic and a mosque. The total costs of the first phase of the project was 3,671,000 Qatari Riyals, whereas the current second phase exceeded the sum of 1.5 million Riyals.

The opening ceremony was attended by a large group of governmental officials and civil society institutions in Indonesia. Moreover, the ceremony was also attended by his Excellency, the Ambassador Mohammad Bin Khater Al-Khater, Mr. Mohammad al-Kaabi; the Manager of the Department of Relief  in Qatar Charity, and the donors of the sons of the deceased Mohammad Jasem Al-Kawari -may Allah have mercy upon him, who were keen to attend to  pray for and honor their parents.

Among the Indonesian governmental officials who attended the cenrmony were, Dr. Cellica Nurrachadiana, the Government Mayoress of "Karawang" city where the village was built. She has thanked the donors and Qatar Charity for this achievement and wished that this work continues. She also said that the two primary and secondary schools in this village will have their impact extended for the children of the neighboring villages. She indicated that the mayoralty of the city is ready to contribute to the removal of any obstacles to establish such scientific monuments.

The Deputy Head of the province of West Jawa, Dr. Ahmed Hadadi expressed his hope that such projects are prevailed in the governorate of West Jawa, which suffers much shortage of housing projects and schools. He also greeted the donors for selecting the most important areas needed practically by the society. He said:" Knowledge establishes geat nations and we in Indonesia are in need of the knowledge, learning and educational renaissance in future. We are thankful for every effort exerted in that area, wishing that other institutions follow the model of Qatar Charity in the selection of the projects types and quality".

 

On his part, his Excellency, the Ambassador Mohammad al-Khater thanked the donor and Qatar Charity for the permanent distinction in the projects held in Indonesia. He has also indicated the importance of the continuation of these exerted efforts to provide better services for a better future for the Indonesian society.

Mr. Iman Santos, the Chairman of the board council of Al-Nour village reported: "This day is one of the happiest days in my life.” He believes in the necessity of the completing the second phase of the project as the number of male and female students in school is now 180 students. The number is expected to double in the next school year after building the second school". He has also mentioned that ten students have memorized the Holy the Quran by heart in the past two years and there are many male and female students on their way to memorize the Qur'an as well. The school administration teaches the students in the morning session and educates them in the evening session as the students live inside the residential complex of the village.

 

On his part, Mr. Mohammad Al-Kaabi, the Relief Department manager of the executive management operations in Qatar charity, expressed his pleasure and joy for attending the opening of this complex and promised of expanding of the projects of the integrated complexes in the future which include schools, dormitories, mosques, and clinics for the good to all village residents and neighbors.

 

In his speech, Mr. Karam Zainhum, the Director of Qatar Charity in Indonesia has extended his thanks to all State institutions for facilitating the proceedings of this edifice donated by philanthropists. He said: "This two- phased-complex is distinguished for being a project of honoring parents that we must all learn from in dealing with parents whether they're alive or dead. He has also pointed out that in this complex there are more than 555 students, learning, praying and reading the holy Qur'an. He ended his words praying to Allah to double the reward of parents in each prostration, each Quranic verse, and recited word in this residential complex.
