Qatar University and Qatar Charity organized the first introductory meeting for the student teams participating in the “Rofaqa” competition and social media influencers to mobilize support, publicize the initiative, and organize events and activities in the support of each team in order to achieve the target to Sponsor 200 Orphans for a whole year.

Social Media Influencers

The social media influencers included Adel Lamy, Saud Al-Maa'adid, and Asma Al Hammadi.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Qatar Charity held two workshops on preparing the community and e-marketing teams of the QU students participating in the ‘Rofaqa’ competition, launched recently by Qatar Charity in cooperation with the university.

Ali Al Gharib, Executive Director of the QC's Executive Management for Local Operations, said Qatar Charity had organized these workshops to prepare community teams by improving students’ capabilities, providing them with the required skills, motivating them to participate in the community work through outreach to community groups and highlighting the issue of orphans and their suffering around the world.

Now, it became necessary for students to have knowledge of marketing techniques and strategies to carry out the community work and serve the humanity around the world, Al Gharib added.

At the meeting, Nasser Al Mogaiseeb, Manager of the International Cooperation Department at Qatar Charity, discussed how to manage and maintain a successful community team to achieve the goals, adding that this requires the acquisition of a range of skills, including follow-up, creativity, and stimulating a positive competition on an ongoing basis.

E-Marketing

Akram Al-Odini, E-Marketing Manager at Qatar Charity said the world has moved to digital gadgets in most walks of life and most companies prefer digital marketing to traditional marketing due to having an easy and quick access to the digital world in order to meet their advertising and marketing needs at a low cost.

He added that Qatar Charity has a significant experience in the field of e-marketing at the local, regional and international levels, as the charity uses most of e-marketing tools.

The judging committee formed by Qatar Charity and Qatar University will meet in the first week of May to select the winners according to the criteria.
