Qatar Charity Signs a Cooperation Agreement with the Government of Djibouti

  •  The director of QC office in Djibouti: QC has implemented 227 projects since mid-2015 to present.

 

QC via its office in Djibouti has signed a cooperation agreement with the government of Djibouti to support the people of Djibouti and to achieve community development.

The signature ceremony took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Djibouti. It was signed by Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssef, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on behalf of the government of Djibouti, and Mr. Mohamed Elwaiey the director of QC office in Djibouti, on behalf of QC.

His Excellency, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Djibouti commended the major role played by QC in supporting the people of Djibouti, expressing deep thanks and gratitude to QC and the people of Qatar for their contribution to support the local development and serve the people of Djibouti. The government of Djibouti will provide QC with all necessary facilities to support its major role in serving the people of Djibouti, he added.

His Excellency expressed his pleasure at the implementation of Doha Alkhair village project within one year, hoping that more strategic projects will be implemented by QC in the future that contribute to the development of the community in line with the Djibouti government's strategy in the development and combating poverty.

It is noteworthy to mention that QC is approaching the completion of the implementation of Doha Alkhair village project in Djibouti in collaboration with the Kuwaiti Rahma International Foundation. The projects aims at providing safe accommodation for 100 families, alleviating their suffering, providing basic health care, educating more than 360 students, rehabilitating and training female students in the sewing workroom, providing drinking water, and providing employment opportunities. It is expected that 100 families (including 1200 individuals) will benefit from the project, along with 10000 individuals will benefit from the services provided by the village. 

For his part, Mr. Mohamed Elwaiey, explained the details of the activities undertaken by QC in Djibouti on 14\May\2015. 227 projects have been implemented in Djibouti including relief, seasonal, development, education, health and water and sanitation projects at a cost of QR10130128. 

His Excellency was impressed by the efforts made and the activities carried out by QC within a relatively short time.

While explaining the projects implemented by QC in Djibouti, Doha Alkhair village project was addressed that was funded by QC and aims at establishing 100 housing units, water network, a mosque, a clinic, a sewing workroom and school, which will be inaugurated soon.

In the framework of its policy to directly supervise relief, development and construction projects implemented in the countries in which it operates, QC inaugurated an office in Djibouti last year in the presence of public figures and representatives of national and international organizations, and United Nation. It gives priority to the implementation of relief and development project for the people of Djibouti and Yemen.
